Equalisation Tuning Method
نویسندگان
چکیده
The paper presents a novel tuning method for different types of controllers. Since the tuning method is trying to equalise the closed-loop response to the open-loop response, it is named “Equalisation tuning method”. The main advantage of this method is that it does not require any additional data from the operator except the measurement of the process steady-state change in an open-loop experiment. The equalisation method is also relatively insensitive to process output noise. Simplicity and efficiency of the method is demonstrated on several process models and on a hydraulic laboratory plant. Matlab and Simulink files are provided.

Blind Equalisation of High-Order QAM Channels Using a Fuzzy-Logic Tuned Constant Modulus Algorithm and Soft Decision-Directed Scheme
We consider blind equalisation for high-order quadrature amplitude modulation channels using a lowcomplexity high-performance concurrent constant modulus algorithm (CMA) and soft decision-directed (SDD) scheme. Instead of using a constant step size, we design a fuzzy-logic (FL) tuning unit to adjust the step size of the CMA. Simulation investigation confirms that faster convergence can be achie...
متن کاملTurbo Equalisation: Implementation and Importance for Communication Systems
This paper discusses a recent iterative equalisation technique called “turbo equalisation”. We specifically aim to develop a general model for a coded interleaved transmission system with a channel with memory. We show the general detection/decoding procedure before elaborating on a new alternative interference canceler based method to reduce complexity. We use examples from DS/CDMA, and ISI ch...
متن کاملBlind channel estimation for multiple input multiple output uplink guard-band assisted code division multiple access systems with layered space frequency equalisation
Single carrier (SC) code division multiple access (CDMA) with block transmission has been shown to be more effective while utilising a low-complexity equaliser to combat frequency-selective fading channels, when compared with conventional direct sequence CDMA technology. It also has lower peak-to-average power ratio and lower frequency sensitivity compared with multicarrier CDMA. The authors pr...
متن کاملNONLINEAR AND NON-GAUSSIAN SIGNAL PROCESSING Exploiting non-Gaussianity in blind identification and equalisation of MIMO FIR channels
The problem of blind identification and equalisation (BIE) of finite impulse response (FIR) channels in multiuser digital communications is investigated. The non-Gaussian nature and statistical independence of the users’ data streams is exploited by resorting to blind signal separation (BSS) based on higher-order statistics (HOS). Two such techniques are put forward. The first technique is comp...
متن کاملOptimisation of Adaptive Partial Response Equalisation for Data Storage Channels
The process of reshaping the channel frequency response, correcting the channel-induced distortions and lowering the intersymbol interference is termed as channel equalisation. In practice, the equaliser in the system receiving electronics with continuously adjusted parameters used to handle the channel characteristic variations in an attempt with the objective of optimising the channel frequen...
